About Us
The Union Farmer’s Market is a vibrant, friendly meeting place that provides our community with access to more than a dozen local farmers and crafters. Our support of local agriculture using sustainable farming methods helps to provide healthy, affordable food to the community while also benefiting our environment and local economy.
Partnering with Come Spring Food Pantry
We moved to our new location at the new Come Spring Food Pantry in 2021 to better foster a sense of community and help support the food pantry and local residents. Come Spring Food Pantry (links to https://comespringfp.org/) serves the towns of Union, Appleton, Washington, Searsmont, Warren, and South Hope.
We Welcome Payment with SNAP/EBT
The Market accepts payment with SNAP (“Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,) which is a federally funded government program. EBT is the electronic method through which government funding can be used, similar to a debit card.
Union Farmer’s Market also participates in the Maine Harvest Bucks program. Maine Harvest Bucks are issued to SNAP customers at markets based on how much SNAP they spend. For instance, if a shopper spends $20 worth of SNAP benefits at the market, they will receive an extra $10 in Harvest Buck coupons to spend at the market. You can spend them the same day or save for a later date. Maine Harvest Bucks can only be redeemed for fruit and vegetables and other foods processed without salt, sugar or added fat.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Farmers Market is a 100% volunteer-run organization and we welcome volunteer assistance. We will be sharing more information about Volunteering opportunities soon.
